Application Details:

Eligibility Criteria:

 (1) Age : – The candidate should not be under 20 (Twenty) years of age and should not be more than

27 (Twenty Seven) years of age as on 01.01.2021.The upper age limit shall be relaxed by 05

(five) years for the candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes (SC) &

Scheduled Tribes (ST) and by 03 (Three) years for the candidates belonging to the category of

Other Backward Classes (OBC).

Selection Procedure:

Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination will be held on n General Studies Logical & Analytical reasoning and Arithmetic. The maximum marks is 200 (100 marks in General studies having 50 questions, 50 marks in Logical & Analytical reasoning having 25 questions and 50 marks in Arithmetic having 25 questions), 90 mins will be allotted for this examination. The preliminary examination will be a screening test for shortlisting of candidates for the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

 

Final Examination:The individuals who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be called for Final Examination. The Final Examination will comprise of three papers of conventional kind questions, to be specific Paper-1 on General Studies and Arithmetic of 100 marks two hours term, Paper-2 on English of 50 marks and Paper 3 on – Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali of 50 marks of one hour span.

 

Personality Test: A predetermined number of candidates chosen on  merit basis on the results of Final Examination will be called for  the Personality Test. Personality test will be directed for 30 Marks. The passing marks  for the Personality assessment will be 08(eight). The candidates who fail to get a minimum passing in the Personality test will be precluded independent of the marks obtained by them in the Final Combined Competitive Examination.

 

The candidates who have selected Hindi/Nepali/Urdu as a subject in the Paper 3 and get qualified for the designation, must need to pass the departmental exam in Bengali, during the probation period for the confirmation of the post.

Syllabus for the recruitment examination :

Preliminary examination and Paper 1 of the Final Combined Competitive Examination:

 

General Studies and Arithmetic:

 

(a) General Studies:-

The main focus of the questions would be to check the general knowledge of the candidate..

 

(b) Logical & Analytical Reasoning:-

 

The main focus of the questions would be to check the logical and analytical ability of the candidate

 

(C) Arithmetic:-

Questions will be set on the basis of the syllabus of Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

 

Paper 2 and Paper 3 of the Final Combined Competitive Examination:

 

  1. Paper 2 – English:-

Questions may be asked on all or any of the following items:

 

(a) Report Writing on the basis of the materials given;

 

(b) Translation work from hindi/nepali/bengali to english,

 

(c) Condensing of a prose passage (summary/ precis)

 

(d) Jumbled words, synonyms and antonyms, pick odd one out, grammar

 

  1. Paper3 – Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali:-

Questions may be asked on all or any of the following items:

 

(a) Report Writing on the basis of the materials given;

 

(b) Translation from English to Bengali and English to Nepali for the candidates who have opted for ‘Bengali’ or ‘Nepali’ respectively and translation from Hindi/Urdu to Bengali for the candidates who have opted for Hindi or Urdu. The translation shall be of 20(twenty) marks.
